Pottery Barn Mirror Knock Off - Eagan Mirror - DIY

As many of you know, I recently moved and am in the process of doing lots and lots of DIY projects around the house. Over the next few months, I plan to share several of them with you. Here is the first project I am posting!

While strolling through the Annapolis mall recently, I came across this Eagan Multipannel Mirror at Pottery Barn. The Eagan Mirror collection is absolutely stunning and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit your style. They start at about $250 and go upwards to $700.

As soon as I got home, I hit Pinterest to see if I could DIY it! Sure enough, I found several bloggers who had all the instructions I needed to get started.

Here is the link to the YouTube video I used. The instructions are super easy. Once we got started, it only took about 45 minutes from start to finish. This video shows a small mirror, but as you can see, the one I made is large - 48" x 36".

Total I spent was $47. Here is what you need:

Plywood - cut in your desired finished size. Mine is 48" x 36"
Beveled Mirror Tiles (I got mine at home depot-Glacier Bay 12x12 tiles)
Glue - E6000
Silver Craft Paint Pen/Foam Brush (I got my paint at DickBlick.com)
Picture Hangers

Use paint pen/brush to paint the side and edges of the plywood. This way if your mirrors don't go all the way to the edge, you will not see the unfinished wood. This is not on the YouTube video, just something I came up with to be sure you could not see the plywood.
Glue the mirror tiles to the plywood using the E6000. I had my husband help me because I wanted to be sure they were perfectly straight.
Use heavy books to sit on top of the mirrors. Wait 24 hours until the glue is totally try.
After drying is complete, add hooks to the back and hang in desired location.

I am going to try your idea … I have also admired the mirror in the Pottery Barn Store (also at Annapolis Mall … I am in Bowie) the mirror is beautiful and I have several areas I could possibly use it … LOVE I can do it myself.

My husband and I were in dire need of a new coffee table. We'd been using a $35 coffee table from Walmart that was entirely too small for our couch. I had a very specific look in mind & didn't want to break the bank. So we took on the adventurous feat of DIYing it. It only took us three trips to Lowe's and almost quitting five times, but in the end, it turned out great. We spent about $150 on the whole project.
